IIPM DELHI: ADVERTISING & SOCIO CULTURAL TRENDS

IIPM: What is E-PAT?

An activity to bring out the creative side of the students and to help them understand the dynamics of advertising was put together at IIPM.

This special session involved the making of a 'Nokia' television commercial by the students and then making a presentation to Ms. Babita Baruah on the same. Ms. Baruah is currently serving as Vice President and Client services Director at JWT.

The event was kicked off by Ms. Baruah who made an elaborate presentation on the Advertising and Socio Cultural trends in India. She showcased some of the most popular India centric advertisements including the Dairy Milk 'Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye' and The Women Horlicks adverts. Ms Baruah also followed this up with a discussion on the strategy and core idea behind these advertisements. This allowed students to link the basic marketing concepts to the practical implications on advertisements. She was of the opinion that creating an advertisement gets easy if you have that drive to think beyond and make a connection to the Indian audience.
Overall 5 teams presented their creative ideas on the advertisements and the best entry was awarded with the certificates as recognition. The judges included Prof. Ranjan Paul, Prof. Pushp Lamba and Ms. Babita Baruah and each of them confessed of thoroughly enjoying the creations by the students.

This session helped students to understand to understand dynamics between advertisement and the social culture prevalent in India.

IIPM BHOPAL: INDUSTRY VISIT TO 'BHOPAL SAHAKARI DUGDH SANGH MARYADIT, SANCHI'

IIPM Mumbai Campus

An Industry Visit to “Bhopal Sahakari Dugdh Sangh Maryadit, (Sanchi)” was organized for the students of IIPM Bhopal on September 19, 2011, Monday. This activity was facilitated by SMG.

Sanchi is the apex organization at the top of a 3 tier structure of dairy cooperatives in Madhya Pradesh. It formulates policies, monitors and assists the Milk Unions in implementation of dairy development activities in the key functional areas including – Marketing, Field Operation, Quality Control, Monitoring & Planning. Administration, Finance, Purchase. Students were taken to the manufacturing plant where the various milk products are manufactured like different types of Mild, 'Ghee', White Butter, 'Shrikhand', 'Lassi', 'Peda', Flavoured Milk and many more. Mr. R.K. Khare, Manager-Marketing, briefed them about the entire plant operation process from the receipt of milk at the dairy dock to dispatching of milk & milk products for distribution. It was an exciting educational experience for all students as they gained practical learning from the visit.

IIPM HYDERABAD: INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO DECCAN CHRONICLE PRESS

The students of IIPM-Hyderabad went to Deccan Chronicle Press Office on 21/10/2011 as part of the Industrial Visit. In total 25 students attended the Industrial visit along with Mr. Mufaddal Poonawala & Ms. Puja Garg from the Academics Department.

As part of the visit the students were enlightened on how press organization functions & how the printing of newspapers, editing, and the over all bigger picture of how a newspaper company runs.
Students were also explained about the machines that are used in the making of a newspaper and how much manpower planning is needed. Students enjoyed this Industrial outing and were perfectly oriented towared the working of a newspaper company.
